Recent Projects
U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Center Utility Rate Management Team (AFCEC URMT)
Exeter serves as the eyes and ears for the URMT, monitoring regulatory and legislative activities at the state and federal level in a monthly report distributed to all procurement officers.
Maryland Power Plant Research Program (PPRP)
For over 35 years, Exeter has provided support to PPRP in analyzing the economic and environmental impacts of current and proposed energy policies in Maryland. Recent studies have focused on the Maryland Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS), nuclear power, and energy storage. A forthcoming study, commissioned by the Maryland General Assembly, will evaluate the feasibility of reaching 100% clean or renewable energy by 2040.
Exeter also provides support to PPRP in the review of all generation and transmission projects proposed in Maryland. Our responsibility is to evaluate the socioeconomic impacts of each project, including public safety, visual impacts, direct and indirect economic impacts, and property values. We also evaluate the need for proposed transmission projects, drawing on the expertise of engineering subcontractors and/or in-house economic analysis.
U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)
Exeter examines state-level policy changes with respect to the greenhouse gas and/or resource adequacy requirements in California, Oregon, and Washington. Exeter works with DOE to mitigate risks associated with these requirements as part of our strategy for managing DOE’s electric supply portfolio.
