Project Overview

Federal Government

Exeter provides support to federal government clients on issues such as competitive power and natural gas procurement, utility rate case support, transmission policy, renewable energy development and conventional energy project development. Listed below are some of our recent federal government projects.

Contract Negotiation
Department of Energy

Exeter supported the government in contract negotiations involving a utility’s proposed charges to operate and maintain a government-owned distribution substation. The negotiations resulted in several hundred thousand dollars in annual savings at a large National Nuclear Security Administration facility.

Power Procurement Support
Defense Logistics Agency Energy

For the past 18 years, Exeter has assisted DLA Energy in competitively procuring electric power for numerous military installations and large civilian agencies. Our work includes monitoring markets, developing solicitation and contract language, assessing risk incurrence, and ensuring conformance with ISO/RTO requirements.

Power Procurement Support
Department of Energy, Berkeley Site Office

For over 30 years, Exeter has assisted DOE/BSO in addressing the power supply requirements for the three Northern California DOE Laboratories.  Recent support has addressed meeting California greenhouse gas (GHG) requirements without the ability to purchase GHG allowances.
