Exeter Associates, Inc., an economics consulting firm located in Columbia, Maryland, is seeking to hire a senior analyst. The successful candidate will have experience in addressing accounting and revenue requirement issues and experience testifying before state and/or federal regulatory commissions. Strong quantitative skills; at least a Master’s degree in accounting, forensic accounting, finance, or a related field; at least five years of experience in the electric power, natural gas, or water and wastewater industries; and strong experience with spreadsheet applications and analysis are required.
Exeter performs economic and regulatory analysis, regulatory testimony, policy analysis, and options studies for state and federal government agencies. Exeter’s clients include the U.S. Department of Energy, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, the Maryland Energy Administration, the U.S. Department of Defense, the Pennsylvania Office of Consumer Advocate, the Maine Office of Public Advocate, the Rhode Island Division of Public Utilities and Carriers, and other state and federal agencies.
The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects, both independently and as part of a team, including revenue requirement analysis, class cost-of-service studies, life-cycle cost analysis, options studies, policy analysis, and assistance in utility contract negotiations. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will testify as an expert witness in utility regulatory proceedings before state and federal commissions on revenue requirements and, potentially, other issues.
